The experiment begins . . .

On Monday, I hope to introduce this blog to my communication students and have them submit their reflections on the class to me for posting to this blog. This is an experiment for us all. My first blog experience and the students' first opportunity to post something to the web. We'll see how it goes.

It's very moving to read these heartfelt reflections. I hope that the young man who wants his brother to stop hustling can open real communication with his brother, so that his message will be heard. What will his alternative be? Where can we find the hope that will sustain us all? Things are so difficult for so many people in this life, it is essential to find and nurture the wellspring of hope that I know each of us can tap within us.

Congratulations to teacher and students for an important and worthwhile project.
